Benefits for people over 65 years

Procedure for cancellation of interest, surcharges and penalties on imposed contributions for real property owned by the taxpayer more than 65 years, and whose income from any source does not exceed $1,500.00.

Conditions and Requirements:

  • Owning just one property (which must be living).
  • The accumulated debt has to be of real property used as your principal residence.
  • Must be sixty-five (65) years old.
  • Receive income from any source not exceeding $1,500.00 monthly. Must provide proof of income received (certified social insurance, bank statement, certifying retirement benefits, etc.).
  • Complete a service request
  • Make the payment of the debt by certified check, cash, money order, credit card or debit card.
  • Submit a letter from the Mayor of the Municipality where the subject property is located indicating no objection to condone the foregone interest, surcharges and penalties.
  • Copy of birth certificate.
